At the start of her career, Chef Alice Kim worked in several bakeries and pastries in Chicago before finding her way into fine dining at L2O. While there, she worked under Chef Matthew Kirkley as pastry sous chef before moving to California to work at Meadowood. Shortly thereafter, she reopened Coi in San Francisco under Chef Kirkley, working in both the savory and pastry sections. Collectively, Chef Kim has worked with Chef Kirkley for a total of six years.
